Edward A. Shapiro, is the founder and President of Edward A. Shapiro, P.C., a strategic advisor to emerging businesses, helping them chart a course for long-term success 

Edward A. Shapiro was Of Counsel and Member of Burns & Levinson LLP’s Corporate, Trusts and Estates, and Intellectual Property Groups.  Prior to joining Burns & Levinson in 2001, Mr. Shapiro was a partner and founder of Shapiro, Israel & Weiner, P.C.  He has practiced law for more than 35 years as a general practitioner.  He concentrates his practice in advising corporations and emerging businesses and all forms of business and strategic business planning.  Mr. Shapiro also has expertise in family business law and contract negotiations.  He counsels businesses from their initial start-up, through growth periods, and ultimately to a favorable exit; be it merger, sale, joint venture, or IPO.  Mr. Shapiro has extensive experience in negotiating, strategizing, and building a team of corporate advisors to efficiently represent companies in meeting their strategic goals.

He is a member of the Boston University Law School Alumni Association and the Greater Boston Business and Estate Planning Council.  Mr. Shapiro also serves as a trustee of Hebrew College, Brookline, Massachusetts; Trustee of Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston; and was Founder, Director and President of the bi-national New England-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and in that role led a trade mission to Israel.  He was a member of the Trade and Investment Committee, established by the Office of International Trade and Investment for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Mr. Shapiro also serves on the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Massachusetts Venture Forum, and is Founder of the CEO Forum and the Boston Business Advisors Group.  He has been a lecturer of law at the Feder Center for Estate Planning at Boston University School of Law and has lectured on corporate planning at Boston University Metropolitan College.

He is the President of the Foundation of the Club of Madrid, the fundraising arm for the Club of Madrid.  The Club of Madrid is an organization that is made up of eighty plus (80+) ex heads of state of democratic countries.  He is also the General Counsel to the University of the Middle East, a non-profit university without walls established for the purpose of educating educators in the Middle East to foster peace in the Middle East.

He is a member of the Massachusetts and American Bar Associations, and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.  Mr. Shapiro is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. District Court of Massachusetts.

Mr. Shapiro earned an LL.B. from Boston University Law School, an LL.M. from Boston University Graduate School of Tax and a B.A. from Union College.
