Attorney Edward A. Shapiro, is the founder and President of Edward A. Shapiro, P.C., a strategic advisor to emerging businesses, helping them chart a course for long-term success. His office is located in Newton, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston.
Edward Shapiro was Of Counsel and Member of the Boston law firm Burns & Levinson LLP’s Corporate, Trusts and Estates, and Intellectual Property Groups. Prior to joining Burns & Levinson in 2001, Mr. Shapiro was a partner and founder of Shapiro, Israel & Weiner, P.C. He has practiced law for more than 40 years as a general practitioner. He concentrates his practice in strategic planning for and with corporations, emerging and existing, small and large. Mr. Shapiro also has expertise in family business law and contract negotiations. He counsels businesses from their initial start-up, through growth periods, and ultimately to a favorable exit; be it merger, sale, joint venture, or IPO. Mr. Shapiro has extensive experience in negotiating, strategizing, and building a team of corporate advisors to efficiently represent companies in meeting their strategic goals.
He is a member of the Boston University Law School Alumni Association and the Greater Boston Business and Estate Planning Council. Mr. Shapiro was Founder, Director and President of the bi-national New England-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and, in that role, led a trade mission to Israel. He was a member of the Trade and Investment Committee, established by the Office of International Trade and Investment for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Shapiro also served on the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Massachusetts Venture Forum, and is Founder of the CEO Forum and the Boston Business Advisors Group. He has been a lecturer of law at the Feder Center for Estate Planning at Boston University School of Law and has lectured on corporate planning at Boston University Metropolitan College.
He is the President of the Club de Madrid Foundation, Inc., the fundraising arm for the Club de Madrid. The Club de Madrid is an organization that is made up of eighty plus (80+) ex heads of state of democratic countries.
He is a member of the Massachusetts and American Bar Associations, and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. Mr. Shapiro is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. District Court of Massachusetts.
Mr. Shapiro graduated from Union College, Boston University Law School, and Boston University Graduate School of Tax.
